A lovely hotel only a 15 minute scenic walk from Portofino and across the road from a beach, well served by local transport. Recently refurbished, simple yet tasteful decor. Giorgio and his staff were extraordinarily helpful and pleasant and did their all to ensure our holiday was a great success. I can highly recommend Hotel Argentina, above all for the quality of service! And the hotel restaurant was excellent!
The walls were on the thin side and our neighbours a tad noisy, but otherwise everything was perfect!
We like de location, next to Portofino and det staff was very helpfull and friendly
The room was small
The location is superb in a tiny bay on the Italian Riviera. The backdrop of historic villas and their gardens form a perfect backdrop. The are many things to do, such as walking on little tracks through olive groves and pine and oak forest. Walking to Portofino is easy and only about 15 minutes away, as is Santa Margherita by bus, where there are loads of lovely shops and a picturesque harbour. Hotel Argentina is an intimate boutique hotel where the service is friendly and welcoming. The staff are multilingual, helpful and warm. There are big white bathrobes and nice facilities in the charming rooms. The food is all made on the premises including lovely specialties of the area and handmade nibbles for drinks in the evening. I loved my stay and talking to other travelers staying at expensive Portofino, best deal around value for money.
Good location - close to a lovely beach and in walking distance of Portofino. A perfectly nice, clean hotel but it was not good value for money. We paid for a "superior" room but the room was very basic and a little disappointing.
A perfectly nice little hotel in a great location but it was not good value for money. We paid for a superior double but there wasn't really anything "superior" about it, it was a very basic room.
The Location was perfect the hotel beautiful situated just near Portofino. George the new owner was very warm and inviting and could not do enough for us handling our luggage and assisting in parking our car. would we return Yes Yes Yes
Fantastic location, close to but tucked away from the busy tourist towns around it, and so beautiful. The owner is an excellent and welcoming host, creating a warm personal atmosphere. Paid parking available nearby is plentiful and public transport connections easy and a better proposition than taking the car into narrow streets or to the nearby Cinque Terre.
A small,family,fair priced hotel.
The staff at the hotel were fantastic. You are made to feel welcome from the first instant and nothing was too much trouble. They went out of their way to provide information and to make sure that you had everything you wanted. The location is great - easy access by foot or bus to Portofino and Santa Marguertia, and a beach and lovely swimming just across the road. We swam every morning before breakfast and again in the evening. Great value compared to other hotels in the area.
The hotel is right by the road so it can be a little noisey. Car parking is an extra expense, but even with that it is still very good value
Excellent location w beautiful surroundings, literally 2 steps from beach, cool staff.
The friendliness of the staff was great. The breakfast wasnt really rich but it was fresh and tasty. The location and the sea was perfect.
The rooms was quite small. If you arrive with a big suitcase it might be a problem both in the room and in the hotel.
What can I say about Georgio(the owner) he is very hospitable and helpfull even from the phone when I called for directions to get to the very cute hotel!!! Nice breakfast and diner. Very clean room and nice decoration!
Had a very pleasant stay in Hotel Argentina. Very nice and welcoming staff even offering us lift from Portofino when we saw them in town. Front desk is really helpful and cater to your requests in a friendly and happy way. Rooms were neat and tidy and are correctly depicted at the web-site. En-suite bathroom was clean and fresh. Plus for the ocean view in some rooms as well as going to sleep hearing the waves gently rolling in. Lovely setting at Paraggi beach just outside Portofino, tranquil and perfect for relaxation or as a base to explore the national park and the Portofino area. Breakfast was nice with amazing croissants. Excellent price/performance - would definitely go back.
The staff was very friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and quiet. There is also a beautiful little bay just over the street. I would recommend this hotel for someone who's looking for a relaxing and quiet holiday.
The beach which is very close to the hotel costs unfortunately 30Euro per person/day and for the rest there's just a veryvery small part of the beach, which is quite uncomfortable. For us, it would have been better to go to Santa Margherita Ligure for a swim. This is not the fault of the hotel, though. Restaurants are not many at Paraggi, so you have to go to Portofino or Santa Margherita.
It was an ideal location. Close to Portofino, Santa Margherita and Cinque Terre. Local bus also train in Santa Margjherita. Beach opposite hotel. Good shopping in Santa Margherita. Georgio, mine host, was delightful as where the other hosts. Our room had a balcony, which was fabulous. The view was to die for. A most enjoyable 5 days.
There was much to like about this hotel, especially the owner and staff who were really helpful. The location is terrific as both Portofino and Sta Margherita are in easy walking distance. The breakfast was very good. A nice sandy beach is directly opposite (although the public section is ridiculously small)..
Mould in the bathroom and the room was quite small.
